Seattle Coworking Week 2017 Spotlights the City’s Collaborative Community

Seattle, one of the top coworking cities in the U.S., is about to experience a wave of coworking awesomeness during the annual Seattle Coworking Week, which runs September 18-22.Throughout the week, collaborative spaces across the city will open their doors to freelancers, small businesses, artists, gamers, creatives, remote workers and the coworking curious.An initiative of the Seattle Collaborative Space Alliance, Seattle Coworking Week is a celebration of Seattle coworking, shared workspaces, diversity, collaboration, community and creativity. During Seattle Coworking Week last year, Mayor Ed Murray declared September 20, 2016, Seattle Collaborative Space Alliance Day.This year’s festivities include free coworking, open houses, professional development events, happy hours, workshops and more. Here are some of the highlights:1. Collective Chemistry, a coworking space for freelancing digital creatives in Seattle, will offer free coworking all week long.2. On Monday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m., the Women’s Business Incubator, soon to be called The Inc., hosts a workshop titled “Get Your Time Back! Productivity Hacks, Timeblocking & Trello 101.” Topics covered include getting motivated, finding accountability partners, using productivity tools, how to use timeblocking systems and more. Childcare will be available, if needed.3. The Metropolist hosts a panel and discussion on Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. titled “Commercial Leases – What You Need to Know." This event will focus on coworking space operators and small businesses seeking their first lease or a lease renewal.4. The Pioneer Collective in Pioneer Square will celebrate Seattle Coworking Week with free breakfast burritos from Rain Shadow Meats at 9 a.m. on Monday, free coworking on Wednesday, and a Vinyl Happy Hour on Thursday, from 4-6 p.m.5. Office Nomads, the first coworking space in Seattle, hosts a Marketing Roundtable on Tuesday from 12:30-2 p.m. The discussion will focus on coworking space operators and community based businesses. Office Nomads also hosts a roundtable discussion on Coworking Spaces and the Arts Community, Thursday at 12:30 p.m.6. Works Progress will host free coworking all day, a networking happy hour and Open House on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. They also host “Small Business Tax Tips” on Wednesday, from 6:30-8 p.m.7. The Union Club in Tacoma is offering free coworking on Thursday, September 21, and hosting an open house from 4-6 p.m., complete with food and drinks.8. On Thursday, September 21, Hing Hay Coworks will offer a free coworking day and tour of Chinatown International District, which is emerging as a diverse and supportive entrepreneurial hub in the city. Participants will learn about the people and places that have made the neighborhood unique, have the opportunity to grab some food from one of the many restaurants in the area, and do some shopping at the Uwajimaya Market.Note: All Seattle Coworking Week events are free and open to the public.
